Valerie Rapowitz has been a practicing Speech/Language Pathologist for over 30 years.

 

She has a Master of Science Degree in Communication Disorders and a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a Concentration in Speech Pathology.

 

Valerie has her Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) in Speech/Language Pathology by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed in the states of Georgia and Texas.

 

She has received 6 ACE awards for continuing education from ASHA.

 

Valerie is a Certified Dyslexia Wilson Practitioner, a Certified Barton Reading and Spelling Tutor-Advanced Level, a member of The Georgia Speech-Language-Hearing Association (GSHA), a member of the Georgia Organization of School-Based Speech-Language Pathologists, a member of the Dyslexia Association of Georgia as well as The International Dyslexia Association.

 

The Wilson Reading System and The Barton Reading and Spelling Program are explicit Orton-Gillingham influenced multisensory reading and spelling programs.

 

Valerie is a trainer for the Compton P-ESL program.

Valerie was a member of the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and a member of the Utah Speech-Language-Hearing Association. In addition, she served on the Board of the Georgia Branch Dyslexia Association as Co-Corresponding Secretary.

 

Training has included:

  • Certification as a Barton Reading Tutor for the Barton Reading and Spelling System at the Advanced Level

  • Certification in the Compton P-ESL program (Pronouncing English as a Second Language),

  • The LIPS Program 

  • 3-day training course with Syllables Reading Center,

  • LETRS Modules

  • Prespeech and feeding, courses on Autism, Learning and the Brain, Developmental and Neurological Disorders, Fast Forward, multiple courses for articulation and language production, and the 8 Week Neurodevelopmental Treatment Course (NDT).
